Sidekick makes your shell collaborative with zero need for setup.

It's an app that runs alongside your terminal window. Sidekick lets you select & share your current terminal session with your team members with no hassle. Once connected, you can both collaboratively write and run commands on the host computer.

Installation 💾

  1. 👉 Download the app

    Supported platforms:

  2. Unzip the downloaded file

  3. Move the app to the "Applications" folder

  4. Open the app

  5. Accessibility setup

    When you open the app for the first time it asks for the Accessibility permissions and it automatically opens the Accessibility Access window.

    The app needs the Accessibility permissions for opening Terminal windows when sharing


    You can give the app the necessary permissions by following these steps:

    1. Click on the "Open System Preferences" in automatically opened Accessibility Access window

    1. Click on the lock icon in the left bottom corner to unlock the settings

    2. Click on the "sidekick" app in the list and allow accessibility

    1. Click on the "Continue" button in the app window

    The app automatically downloads and installs the necessary files and configures your shell. It may take a while.

Sidekick is a companion app to your terminal. That means it runs alongside your terminal sessions. Sidekick watches all your terminal sessions and lets you interact with them through its UI.
